Flowers for an old timer.
Everyday, Mike conducted his train through the same stations, saying hello to everyone. Today was special. A little girl accompanied by her mother, came to him with a bundle of flowers and simply said: “Thank you for bringing my daddy home safe every day.”
Tears rolled down his rugged face…
1a. The Kissing.
They kissed with such hunger it looked like they were devouring each other. Human animals in full display. It was an exquisite spectacle, and they didn't disappoint. Entangled like two dolphins twirling, their passion was evident. She teased him to get more, for she was insatiable. The aliens were amused.
2 Sophie.
(An unneeded funeral in absentia)
What happened to little Sophie? One moment, she's happily playing hide-and-seek with friends, the next, she's missing. Thousands of volunteers, helicopters, and ATVs searched for weeks. Today, she returned to her small town and told her story. She had been raised by ravens and wolves for 40 years!
3 Saved.
Playing hide-and-seek could be incredibly dangerous. Melody was lost and holding on for dear life on a small rock on the cliffs. Her fingertips started to bleed; she couldn't hold much longer. The wolf saw her, approached carefully, and saved her life by lifting her up from a certain death.
3a. Briefcases.
The two presidents of the only superpowers couldn't reach an agreement. Insults went back and forth, and the nuclear briefcases were opened beside each of them.
Advisers scrambled on computers, trying to prevent the inevitable.
At midnight, the silos will open, and nuclear warheads would cover the sun.
4. Utopia.
Imagine a world where new arrivals are 100 % morally better than departed ones. Imagine how quickly society would change. What if baby prodigies arrived only to make the world a better place?
A place for learning, loving & sharing.
A place where there'd be no more violence. And no more wars.
5. Fight.
If we fight anything at all, we should fight EGO. It's our biggest problem. It never loses and sooner or later, we invite it back in.
Ego is bad news. It's moody, destructive, judgemental, selfish, sado-masoquistic, and corrosive all around.
If we fight anything, that should be our 1rst priority.
6 Addicted.
There was no other way to put it. Addicted to her presence, to her kisses, to her touch.
Nothing filled the void when she was gone. He felt naked and alone. She made sure he was smitten and out of control. It was a dangerous place to be.
7. Hemlock.
“Wanna come to my place for a drink?” hubby said.
She reluctantly agreed as they’re divorcing.
She was trying to keep it amicable; he had a plan.
“We'd share custody, but I'd like to keep the house”
“Absolutely not,” she answered.
“Whatever. Let's drink...”
But he made it with hemlock…
8. Finding oneself.
Letting go of what is material is invigorating.
Letting go of placing guilt and assigning judgments just as good.
Letting go of all that chained us makes one feel like being born again.
Finding out what truly matters is the real revelation. Finding yourself is the gem.
9. Spheres.
The most important things around are circular. Life itself is a circle. Live, die, and come around for another go. And it's beautiful.
10. Life Happens.
Palm trees, an Olympic size pool surrounded by lush green hills. Peace and calm reigned everywhere. I'm chilling in the morning sun with excellent company and a book. My lab Obbie next to me. Couldn't be sweeter. I was to dip in the blue waters when reality stepped in. That dreaded phonecall…
11. The Neanderthal.
It was one of the most challenging days for Khur, the Neanderthal. After the mammoth hunt, the animal's fury decimated many of his friends. They didn’t succeed, either. All that pain and loss for nothing, since they came back to the cave empty-handed. The winds were arctic-strong & some injuries were fatal.
12. A lesson.
This gorgeous cardinal stops by my feeder and candidly asks, “Human. When are you going to feed us more diverse seeds?"
I, concerned, replied, "But I's the best they have on the market. And it cost me an arm and a leg!”
"You can afford it, human. I can see you have a delightful house, with Alexa and all the goods. We? We have to live out in the cold, with predators, bad weather, and..."
"Ok, stop. I got it.”
"What would your excellence be happy with, then?”
I couldn't believe his next action.
“For a species that claims to be on top of the food chain, you're not a great example, human.”
And just like that, he extruded something from his backside and flew away.
Thanks a lot!
