They know so much. It amazes me everyday still. I've always said I don't have pets, I have characters! I was raised with 5 dogs and 2 cats at one point. I don't know life without them. They get it. I can't say that for many people. Dogs understand what's important and it's pretty simple. Just be good.
My fuzzy one-eyed rescue is right there at the top of the mound. She’d give her life, a thousand times, and she’s having to earn her place among the stuffed animals 🧸 in the basket for the 2 yr old. But she’s already loved and has earned her treats day by day, as the toddler stops to make her “beg” for breakfast. 🦴
Love it! Your humor is laugh out loud funny. I just read your post about succeeding on Substack and thank you very much for all of those incredible tips! Thank you for subscribing to Critters. So much fun is right! Take good care and thanks again.
100% agree! Beautifully said, I can't imagine living without dogs. Kitties are wonderful, we had an awesome bunny who was an absolute treasure, but dogs are my heart and soul. So glad to find other people who feel the same.
You are right about dogs and the impact they have on our lives. Yesterday we shared a special evening, a dinner--we had close friends over--we served comfort food. We all needed comfort. Our friends have just, in the last week, lost their precious dog after caring for her through an illness then inevitably having to say goodbye. We remembered her good days, laughed at memories of her antics and cried together for her loss Anyone who has dog family understands.
Yes, there's no fitting consolation to such a loss. Part of our hearts die with them. And yet, they live on in our memories and in the love they left behind. 🌱❤️
It's hard to believe that someone is finally writing something that I agree with 100%. This is becoming increasingly rare and is therefore more and more gratifying... And then I read: grew up in Italy and now in Argentina...

Hahahaha! So cute. 🥰
Love my fur baby to the moon. I’d rescue 10 but hubby might divorce me.
I know. That's why I can't even walk into a dog shelter. It kills me.
No dog right now, 3 cats, but there is definitely someone missing. Lovely article 💙🐾💫
I know what you mean.
I think we can at least agree that they are a gift from God.
Thanks for this wonderful article. I just saw it restacked in my Notes from The Rewind. Consider me a new subscriber!
Fantastic! I love your handle "Conversations with Critters"!
I've made several posts with that premise. So much fun! I had to subscribe to you as well. Welcome. 🤗

Oh, I had such a great time writing it. So glad you appreciate the tips, LOL 😄.
That’s really the best indicator of a fun loving post, when you have so much fun writing it.:)
What beautiful words
Ah my 3 rescues the perfectly imperfect trio why they where abandoned I will never understand
but each one a gift to me each with their different ways all lightening up even the toughest day & there to remind one what is important
Thank you, Vanessa! Lucky us who have the privilege of being able to hug our angels for everything they represent. 🌹

Absolutely! 💯

That’s the Heaven where I’d like to go.
Your writing is amazing!
Aw. You're too kind. Thank you! 🙏

Indeed! 🐶 😇

Dogs are soulmates, confidants, and playmates. I can’t imagine my life without one they are truly gifts from the gods
