Remarkably intelligent beings. People don't know what they're eating.

The last cat was an adopt, Pedro I lost him in Rotorua he was in a cage and he escaped never saw him again. Very sad.

Yeah, that happened to me too. I was carrying him wrapped in a towel. Jumped off and that's all she sang.

I looked everywhere to no avail. Cats, what are you gonna do about it. But buying one doesn't change a thing. There are so many beautiful kittens waiting for you at your closest shelter, you should take advantage. Not only that, but at least they'll be vaccinated, clean and maybe even chipped. You never know. 🌱

My husband had a cat that loved hide in the shrubs and jump out at you. He especially liked tricking me as I typically wasn't expecting him and would let out a squeal which he delighted in.

They know a great deal more about us than we do them

There you are! Well, hello. 🤗

So, you did enjoy my humble post? I'm so glad! But it's true. These animals are too slick for us sometimes. 😂

I once saw an injured magpie in a state park campground. There was a ranger station nearby, so I went over to report the injured bird. The ranger muttered "camp robbers" and went over to the bird, stomping his feet at it.

The bird wasn't injured. It was faking it to get the humans to give it food.

So, did it fly away?

Expand full comment

Yes. Suddenly, there was nothing wrong with that injured wing.

Right. My post wasn't lying. They've gotten used to us and take advantage any chance they get. I love them for it, can't help it.

House cats have elevated this to a fine art. Did humans really domesticate them? -- or have they domesticated US?

I know. I wrote several posts about these imaginary conversations that somehow they always end up winning.

Just heard a good comment: "Dogs have owners; cats have staff." 😎😆

Stop it!!! Is this cat story true? That's unreal and I'd have to see it with my own eyes 😂

💯 true. Would I lie to you?

There have been many just like it. If you can, check out the one with the dog doing the exact same thing in my Notes.

It's incredible, really. 🌱

I had a Husky that did me like this. If she was sick or injured, I let her sleep on my bed. Periodically she would suddenly be three legged lame in the evening. Riiiiiight. Most hilarious was when she would switch paws. She always held up a front, it was probably easier.
