Yessss! A kind word goes a long way, it can have impact you’d likely not ever know but that’s okay too.
My husband is a strong but fair and decent person in both form and spirit. He is faithful to his friends, family and associates but not a doormat. He gives respect but insists it be reciprocal or he’s done until you are. Forgiveness is key in close relationships. Everyone has bad days so it’s imperative that we give those we love the space to work through stuff and also pursue things they/we enjoy.
He left to visit his extended family today but it’s a get together about four hours away and I just learned he took his motorcycle. I know he loves riding it but it’s hard not to worry. I’m happy for him to be able to have this pleasure. Worrying won’t change anything so I can send up a prayer and have faith in his ability to handle his bike.
Anyway, thanks for the reminder that positivity is good medicine. You reap what you sow.
I liked this; and it’s not hard to understand, but sometimes it can be a bit difficult getting a “yes” from SOME! That may seem to be negative, but it’s not meant that way, at all. Some people just don’t want to be pleasant. 😆 They seem to enjoy difficulty and people feeling sorry for them. I had a FACEBOOK friend who came across that way, but he finally left! (Whew!) I’m glad I didn’t have to kick him out. 😆 Anyway, I agree! ✌️
Not too sure you understood the meaning of the post. I wasn't referring to "others". I was talking about our behaviours in particular, our attitudes and dispositions. We must be the ones with the 'yes' mentality. If there are some who choose to live in misery, that's their choice. Show them a smile, and move on. 🌱🤗
Thank you, Doc! Negativity is awful for mental health. People need to realize this before it's too late. It's an addiction just like any other one. I truly believe once they correct that anomaly, their lives will improve 💯 percent.
Fun linguistic fact: in Dutch, there is 'jaatje', a diminutive of 'ja' (yes). That'd be «little yes».
(Jaatje is also a (somewhat rare) personal name but the origin of that might be different.)
This is an upbeat and interesting take on the power of "yes." I like how you connect it to optimism and creating a positive environment.
Thank you, Ayesha! A change of attitude certainly wouldn't hurt, considering our present situation.

You’re right. (Blows a kiss)😚
Aww. Thank you! Kisses back your way. 😘
I loved the concept of the "Yes Brain". You articulated its value and importance beautifully. Thank you for writing this insightful piece.
