I understood that, but I was thinking companion and playmate, not lovers LOL If Houdini has a distraction, she might be easier to live with?

What Houdi wants, Houdi gets. :)

It is not only with cats that this occurs. Arya the Cockatiel has me all figured out. They observe us intently and know all our moves. Let's face it, we are no match for the avian and feline brains. 🦜🐦🕊

Undeniably. It is in silence—usually, lol—that they observe us and figure what and who we are. It's an amazing phenomenon, really.

What wonderful conversations you have with your cat. No shrink, just accept you have a stunningly beautiful little animal who loves you 💝

It's a parody. No shrink necessary. :)

René, that is a cat through and through. Quixotic, unpredicatable, defiant and even tricky when it comes to you - seemingly - for love. Independent, clandestined and frustrating as hell. But still lovable. One of my sons has a cat named Marcel. He's grouchy as can be, until he decides he'll let you pet him for a moment.

Absolutely. She's something else, but like you said, it's all out of love and affection. 🌱

Cats … as you so gracefully put it, it’s a love/hate relationship … human/pet relationship … no matter, they WIN!

And dogs, or specifically Frenchies! We are not going there today, lol! 😆

Great dialogue -- yes, you have immersed yourself into her mind, and vice versa --beware!

Parody is good for these times. As long as it made you laugh, my intention is achieved.

LOL, I would not suggest a psychological approach. I have Sophie-leah as a first hand close up example. Tell her you are going to talk to her vet on the next visit, because obviously all the love and attention you are pouring on her just doesn't seem to be enough! That should get her attention and either her mood will mellow or she'll pay you back by occasionally cuddling up to you to lull you in to letting your guard down and just resigned to let her rule your home.

I considered another cat buddy for Sophie-leah, she's older now, like 14 or 15 and I think she would not be very happy or welcoming to any other cat or kitten in her realm. Also when I mentioned it to her, she appeared to get the most menacing look I have every witnessed. It was a definite Nope!
